Training on the use of Smart Forest Monitoring System and UAVs in Ninh Thuan province

In June 2024, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ninh Thuan Province organized a training course on the use of smart Forest Monitoring Software (FMS) and UAVs in all districts and forest management boards in the province. The activity aims to support officers and leaders of units in approaching and using the system effectively, serving the work of forest monitoring. In June 2024, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ninh Thuan Province organized a training course on the use of smart forest monitoring software and UAVs in all districts and forest management boards in the province. The activity aims to support officers and leaders of units in approaching and using the system effectively, serving the work of forest monitoring. The training course was organized into 5 classes, with participants including leaders and officers from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Forest Protection Department, District Forest Protection Bureau, and Forest Management Board in the province.

The training course includes the following contents: i) Instructions on using the smart forest monitoring system to detect early forest changes and forest fires and verify information using satellite images in the room or using smart mobile devices, drones, or Ninh Thuan Forest Monitoring Software (FMS Ninh Thuan) (software that supports both Android and iOS operating systems); ii) Instructions on using drones to monitor forests and direct forest fire fighting. The training course had 147 participants from 16 units in the province.

The training course has supported officers at the units in learning how to use the Forest Management and Monitoring System (FMS) of Ninh Thuan province more effectively. The Forest Protection Department has also guided and supported units in using drones to verify forest change information and check forest planting results for evaluation and acceptance with high accuracy. Drones from the Ninh Thuan Forest Protection Department have also been used to provide images for directing civil defense drills, documentation, and television broadcasting. FMS Ninh Thuan and drone equipment have improved forest management and monitoring capacity using 4.0 technology, high-tech equipment contributes to digital transformation in the forestry sector in Ninh Thuan province.
