ADB TA 7629-VIE: Capacity Building for River Basin Water Resources Planning

The project ADB TA 7629-VIE: Capacity Building for River Basin Water Resources Planning is sponsored by ADB to support the Government of Viet Nam Ministry of Natural Resources & Environment to formulate planning tasks for Red-Thai Binh River Basin water resources.

Work under this project will address the whole river basin, sub-basins, provincial areas, river segments, regional economic development areas, and the main groundwater areas.

The overall purpose of formulating planning tasks is to identify main issues, water resource functions, assess current water demands, agreed priorities, objectives, and general solutions needed as a basis for developing a river basin water resources plan.

Planning tasks make prioritized recommendations and provide a framework for three water resources component plans for (a) allocation of water resources; (b) protection of water resources; and (c) prevention, fight against, and overcoming harm caused by water.
