GFD develop custom solution to bring GIS data to the public. We employ a wide range of technology for different project’s type: from open source web server for research actives to industry standard ArcSDE for projects that need scaled and reliability. In this example, we showcase a simple application of web-based GIS, that offer dynamic interaction with maps in a very clean user interface. Build on GeoClip flash-based technology, the application allow end-user to:

 

· View, zoom, pan, arrange map layers

· Create sophisticated thematic map

· Simple spatial query and dynamic attribute query

· View and save attribute table / query to text file or Excel

 

The data set is the map of provinces in the North of Vietnam with associated data such as: population, land use, social economic condition data. Through a set of menu, buttons, user can visualize the dynamic of land use, population, social condition in relation with geographic unit. Benefit of flash-based Map-server are:

 

· Faster map retrieval over the internet, consume less bandwidth.

· Enables client-side processing, instantaneous interactivity.

· Significantly reduce the application development cycle due to simple database model.
